Politicians have been warned against amassing public funds which amounts to vanity that will be left behind on earth after death.

The Archbishop of diocese of Enugu, Rt. Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Chukwuma gave the warning yesterday in a homily at the funeral service of late Chief Benneth Offor, father of business mogul, Sir Emeka Offor at all Saints’ Parish, Irefi, Oraifite, Ekusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Bishop Chukwuma, who described all Nigerian politicians as corrupt, advised them to be sincere and always manifest the change mantra in their characters and offices of trust.

He commended the fight against corruption by the present administration because according to him there has been impunity in the affairs of the government officials. He noted that the fight against corruption should be done in a decent manner.

“There is no respect for human dignity. There must be decency in whatever we are doing, and the fight against corruption. I don’t see the reason why they should go to the homes of judges at midnight to arrest them for alleged corruption. Everybody is corrupt, including President Buhari, I can prove it. Nigeria today needs serious transformation, let the change begins with the president, the senators, the House of Representatives members and all the politicians”, he stated.

He extolled the virtues of late Offor, the legacies he left behind as a former police officer, and advised his children to emulate their father to live a good life in order to enter the kingdom of God on the last day, urging the people to always stand by the truth.

In their separate remarks, the Speaker House of Reps Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara and Deputy governor of Anambra State Dr. Nkem Okeke said the late Offor exhibited good fatherly role by bring up their children in God’s way.

The son of the deceased, Sir Emeka Offor in his remark, thanked those who attended the burial ceremony of the father, saying that he left a big shoe for him to wear.

He said that due to kind nature of his late father that he sold his only car to support his brother in business, saying that his father would be immortalized, and thanked friends for their support during the ceremony.

Offor stated that even if his business goes bankrupt that his goodwill will still see him through in life, and also thanked God that his name was not mentioned in the Dasukigate, stressing that he never committed any crime in supporting the former president of the country.

  1. EVEN THE BISHOP IS CORRUPT, BY ALLUDING THAT ARRESTING THE CORRUPT JUDGES AT NIGHT IS WRONG. ALL OVER THE WORLD THE SUREST WAY TO ARREST A DANGEROUS CRIMINALS IS TO DO IT AT THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT OR EARLY HOURS OF THE MORNING.
    HE SAID HE CAN PROVE THAT BUHARI IS CORRUPT, IF HE CAN'T DO IT, THAT MEANS THE BISHOP IS A GREAT THIEF HIMSELF.
