Talks are ongoing about a blockbuster clash between the two heavyweight giants, with Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn revealing the fight is close to being finalised.

After Klitschko’s rematch against Tyson Fury for the WBA ‘Super’ and WBO versions of the title was called off for a second time, unbeaten champion Joshua admitted he was keen to face the Ukrainian and talks have been ongoing since.

Haye, who lost a unanimous points decision to Klitschko in 2011, is eyeing a mega fight with Joshua for himself and is confident ‘AJ’ will comfortably overcome ‘Dr Steelhammer’ should they meet.

Haye said: “Joshua wins that fight very easily, I really believe that is the case.

“I’ve seen how Klitschko has been declining in recent years. In his last fight against Fury, he looked the worst I’ve ever seen him and averaged around twelve punches a round.

“All Joshua needs is a fair referee, because if they have one then Klitschko will be disqualified for holding. The Ukrainian will be desperate to get close to AJ, so that Joshua can’t let his hands go. Referees in the past have let him get away with it.”

Haye will make his ring return on December 10 against a yet-to-be named opponent as he continues on a collision course to face Joshua in a huge Wembley fight next summer.

“Facing the likes of Joshua, a young and hungry champion, is the reason why I’m in boxing.
