Arsene Wenger’s arrogance has hurt Arsenal to such an extent they have no chance of winning the Premier League title this season, according to Andy Cole.

The Manchester United legend believes that the demands of fans and advice of pundits with regards to potential transfer targets triggers Wenger to opt against moving for certain players, despite it being to the detriment of Arsenal’s chances.

‘Arsenal’s best chance of winning the Premier League was last season. Will they win it this season? No,’ said Cole, who won the Champions League and five Premier League titles at Old Trafford.

‘They will be involved in the mix but the more people or experts who say Arsenal need this player or that player then Arsene decides he doesn’t need them. Arsenal might have missed the boat.’

While Cole doesn’t think Arsenal can challenge for the title, he is uncertain who will have their hands on the trophy come May.

‘The way they [Manchester United and Man City] have both started the season it’s tempting to think that one of them will win it,’ said Cole who was speaking exclusively to 888Sport.

‘But then when you look at how Chelsea have started as well. The Premier League is so topsy-turvy now and whoever puts a run together and plays as a team then anything is possible. Leicester showed that.’
