It was gathered that the Inspector General of Police, IGP Ibrahim Idris, has said the audit report for the police investments will be ready this week and the Police management team will implement the recommendations.
The IGP made the revelation when the executive and management team of the Police Officers’ Wives Association, (POWA) and the Police Wives Association, (PWA) paid him a solidarity visit on Monday.
He noted that the reason for the audit was to ensure that the investments of the officers and men of the Force are protected and their welfare, catered for and assured POWA that the welfare of the police officers and their families are of great importance to the Force.
Earlier, the POWA president, Princess Asmau Idris had stated that they were at the Force to seek Police support in welfare of the wives of police men.
While emphasising on the welfare of its members, the POWA president, urged the Police management to look into the gratuity of the dead officers as their spouses are in dire need of this funds after losing their husbands.
She also called for Police support in establishing schools, solely managed by POWA and the completion of POWA hospital project; among others.
