Former Commander, Nigerian Army Supply and Transport Corps, Maj. Gen. Emmanuel Nienge (rtd) on Sunday called on the Federal Government under President Muhammadu Buhari to declare state of emergency on the economy as part of measures to address the challenges Nigerians are passing through.

J.T Aun’s son, Sub-Lieutenant Aungwa Aun, who received presidential commissioning into Nigerian Navy in Kaduna Saturday, General Nienge also commended President Buhari’s war against corruption saying it must go on to salvage the nation.

Nienge, who expressed optimism that Nigerians will overcome the present economic hardship, however, urged that the nation’s economic team should adopt emergency strategies to tackle the present economic recession.

According to Gen. Nienge, “The federal government should take emergency steps to tackle emergency problem at hand,we need to adopt such tactics to confront the economic recession. Nigerians are suffering but so good, our President is working day and night to overcome this challenge. Nigerians should give him supports to revamp the economy. You heard some people complaining about the present anti corruption fight, but to me President Buhari is doing to end corruption.
