Manchester United defender Eric Bailly is on course to return from injury before the New Year, Jose Mourinho has revealed.
The Ivorian defender has been out of action since United’s 4-0 mauling against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in October where he injured his knee ligaments.
The 22-year-old’s made a bright start to life at Old Trafford since his £30million move from Villarreal in the summer and showed good signs of a partnership with Chris Smalling before his injury.
There were fears that Bailly wouldn’t play for United again until February given that the Africa Cup of Nations begins in January.
However, Mourinho confirmed after last night’s 4-0 win against Feyenoord.
‘He is working hard and will be back before the end of the year, for sure,’ said Mourinho.
