Ozil bagged his first ever hattrick in the rout at Emirates and took to Twitter and Instagram to share a post-game celebratory snap of him and his teammates in the dressing room.

Theo Walcott, Laurent Koscielny, Santi Cazorla, and Hector Bellerin all joined in on the celebrations with Ozil, but former Manchester United defender Ferdinand was not impressed.

‘I have said it before, I wouldn’t be doing that until I have got my hands on a trophy,’said Ferdinand.

‘If that is what the boys want to do…it’s a new age.’

Ferdinand’s fellow pundit on the night for BT was former Manchester City centre-back Richard Dunne and he too was wary of Arsenal celebrating victories that mean very little in the grand scheme of their season.

‘It’s great when you win something but not a group stage in a competition,’ said Dunne.

He added: ‘Arsenal have always been undone by not winning trophies.’

Alexis Sanchez, Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain were also on the socresheet for Arsenal as they sealed their seventh win in a row in all competitions.

The Gunners are at home again at the weekend as they host Middlesbrough at the Emirates hoping to go top of the table.
