According to reports, the Senator Representing Katsina South in the Senate, Abu Ibrahim, at the weekend denied accusing the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, of embezzling twenty billion naira, saying such reckless accusations are never associated with him.
In a statement he issued in Abuja, Senator Ibrahim said at no time did he grant any interview to any media organisation on any matter as serious as the issue of embezzlement in the Senate.
“I wish to state categorically that I have never granted such interview to the said news magazine and I do not share the same opinions and sentiments purported to have been expressed in the said publication.
“As a senior legislator in the National Assembly, I always grant interviews to serious minded journalists and well known newspapers and magazines in and outside the country on important issues”, he said.
He further pointed out that he equally express his personal and official opinions and feelings in a mature and decent language even to those who have different view and political positions with him.
While describing the alleged interview as coarse and primitive in language which has no bearing with his character and personality, he expressed embarrassment to have been associated with the opinion and comment contained in the publication.
He therefore advised the management of the said news magazine to desist from further publication on his name, threatening that he will be forced to take drastic action if the incident occurs again.
