Kano Pillars, Premier League club are in the market for another coach after the resignation of Mohammed Babaganaru. According to reports, Babaganaru resigned after the team’s 1-1 draw with Niger Tornadoes on Sunday.

The club finished seventh in the league with 52 points, two seasons after emerging as champions. Spokesman for the club, Idris Malikawa, said that the club would soon replace Babaganaru.

“Babaganaru resigned from his post as head coach immediately after our match against Niger Tornadoes but we will know what to do as regards the coaching staff after the management’s assessment of the club’s performance this season,” he said.

“The coach was not threatened by the management because he was still under contract till the end of the season. The fans and players too are shocked but that is the nature of the job. He could have been unhappy with the performance of the club after his target for the season and as such chose to resign.”
