Theo Pires joined Arsenal’s famed Hale End Academy at the age of seven and hopes to one day follow in his father’s footsteps by becoming a footballer.

Pires, 43, spent six years with the Gunners and won two Premier League titles under Arsene Wenger’s tutelage.

The Frenchman revealed plans this morning to return to the Gunners as a director but he wants to ensure his son, Theo, also remains at the club and says he will never be allowed to join rivals Spurs.
