Paul Pogba finally showed what all the fuss is about as Manchester United eased to a 4-1 win over Premier League champions Leicester City.
The £89million midfielder was a stand-out performer for the Red Devils as they ran riot at Old Trafford in a superb start in the first half.
Chris Smalling gave United the lead with a header from a corner in the 22nd minute, before three goals in five minutes at the end of the first half blitzed Claudio Ranieri’s men.
Juan Mata made it 2-0 after a brilliant team move, and just moments later Marcus Rashford tapped in to make it three to the home side.
Pogba put the game beyond Leicester with a fourth, another header from a corner for Jose Mourinho’s revitalized side.
The nature of the display might not be good news for Wayne Rooney, however, who was dropped from the starting XI after a poor run of form so far this season.
On this evidence, United won’t miss their captain at all, with the likes of Pogba and Mata much improved in this altered line up.
