The Swede has found the net just once in his last 10 appearances for United and is on his worst goalscoring run since 2007.

Wayne Rooney starts for the first time since United’s 3-1 defeat to Watford on September 18 and replaces the 35-year-old in attack.

Anthony Martial also makes his return after missing United’s last two games due to a foot injury.

Jose Mourinho makes just one other change from the goalless draw with Burnley on Saturday as Morgan Schneiderlin replaces Juan Mata in midfield.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who hasn’t been seen in a United shirt since the 2-1 defeat to Manchester City on September 10, has been named on the bench.

Phil Jones is also among the substitutes and could make his first appearance for United since January.
