Manchester United are miles behind Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham, according to former Chelsea and Blackburn Rovers striker Chris Sutton.

Saturday’s goalless draw against Burnley has left Jose Mourinho’s side eighth in the Premier League and eight points behind leaders Manchester City.

And Sutton, who won the Premier League with Blackburn, believes the United manager should be facing heavy criticism for his side’s average start to the campaign.

‘When you look at the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City and Tottenham, they are miles ahead of Manchester United,’ Sutton told BT Sport.
