Olympiacos forward Brown Ideye has promised to produce his club form for Nigeria when they face Algeria in the Fifa World Cup qualifier on November 12.
The 28-year-old has scored six goals from six appearances for the Thrylos to help the Greece champions maintain their top position on the log.
He has vowed that the Super Eagles posses a great squad to stop the Algerian forces.
“I will say that it will be an interesting game and it will be a good game for us as players. Playing a game like this in front of our fans at home, we just have to prove to the world and the fans that we can beat Algeria. This time we have no excuse, we have to qualify the country to the World Cup,” Ideye told SuperSport.
“I always play alone upfront. That’s my role and that is where I would like to play from. I have played and can play as support striker as well.
“Life in Greece is very good. But I am looking forward to the Algeria game and I can’t wait to see my mates which I believe they have the same aim which is coming to Nigeria and defeating Algeria at home.
“We all look forward to that. In my club side I’m doing very well, I am happy about that, with all the support from my team and I’m looking forward to bring that to my country.”
Algeria boast of English Premier League’s Player of the Year, Rihad Mahrez and a latest addition in Silman Islam but Ideye is confident his team can cage them.
“We know they [Algeria] have some good players, no doubt about that. We too, at this point in time are in the best form to take the country to the World Cup,” he continued.
“We have some players that can really do damage to their defence so I am not worried about that. We know that we have to stay defensive and make sure we contain them at the back meanwhile they too would have to watch us coming. We would do everything to beat them at home.”
