The Olympiakos attacker says that there is no better No.10 on the planet and believes that his former Bremen team-mate is the key to Arsenal’s hopes of winning titles this year.
Marko Marin says that Arsenal ace Mesut Ozil is the best attacking midfielder in the game today and one of the top three players in the world.
Marin spent a season playing alongside Ozil at Werder Bremen before the latter’s departure for Real Madrid in the summer of 2010.
As a result, the 27-year-old German is not in the least bit surprised that his former team-mate at both club and international level has been included in the 2016 Goal 50.
Indeed, Marin believes that there is no better No.10 on the planet, arguing that Ozil is the key to Arsenal’s hopes of winning trophies this season.
“He’s a great player – everybody knows this,” the former Chelsea man (pictured above) told Goal.
“He’s doing very well for Arsenal. To win titles, they need players like him and I think Arsenal are in a good way now.
“He’s the key for them if they want to win something and he needs to be at his best in the big games to win titles.
“He’s the best in his position, if not one of the top three in the world.”
Ozil has scored seven goals in 14 appearances in all competitions so far this season, including a wonder goal in last week’s Champions League win at Ludogorets.
