Operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Sqaud (SARS) in Ogun have arrested three armed robbery and kidnap suspects.


Abibu Onasanya, Kamorudeen Abdulahi and Olalekan Ogunbowale were apprehended on Wednesday at their hideout in Ipoji, Shagamu.

The suspects, who were alleged to have been terrorising residents of Ijebu-Ode and Shagamu for a long time, were rounded up following a tip off.

It was gathered that two pump action rifles, a double barrel gun, an English barrel gun and three locally made single barrel guns were recovered from them.

Contacted, the command’s spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) said they were being discreetly investigated.

“The Commissioner of Police (CP) Ahmed Iliyasu has directed that the suspects be thoroughly investigated so that other members of the gang could be apprehended.”
