German midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger has been offered €11million to leave Manchester United, according to reports.
The World Cup winner has been an outcast at United this season after manager Jose Mourinho froze him completely out of the first team picture early on in the campaign, even reportedly blocking him from representing the under-23s.
Schweinsteiger has failed to be included in one of Mourinho’s squads this season and was forced to train with the club’s under-23 side.
Reports in England had suggested that the legendary midfielder would get a payment if he joined another side during the January transfer window, however, German magazine SportBild now claims that Schweinsteiger will get the pay-off no matter what happens to him in the winter window.
Schweinsteiger would have to sacrifice €7million from his contract if he accepted what the magazine are calling a ‘golden handshake’ from the Red Devils.
The 32-year-old recently got his place in the dressing room back at United and Mourinho welcomed him back into first-team training, but he still remains outside the matchday squads.
