Arsenal striker Lucas Perez is happy to wait for his chance to impress Arsene Wenger after finding first team opportunities hard to come by in north London.

Perez, who joined the Gunners as part of a £17million summer transfer from Deportivo la Coruna, has seen the fine form of Alexis Sanchez and Theo Walcott hinder his introduction to life in England.

In the absence of Olivier Giroud, Wenger has opted to use Sanchez as his No.9 as the club put together their best run of form this season. despite his lack of action, Perez is happy to be patient safe in the knowledge that he’ll be given his chance at the club.

‘The coach told me to be quiet because he trusts in me,’ Perez told IBTimes after the win over Ludogorets.

‘He says that he has been following me for a long time and that he likes me so I have to be patient. He said that opportunities will come and today he has proved it. He is a good guy and is always there to help us,’ the 28-year-old striker added.

‘When I came to Arsenal I knew where I was coming. I know there are great players here. I have to wait for the opportunity. Everyone wants to play, but the important thing is the team and we have won seven games in a row.’
