Antonio Conte is still planning on spending big money in January and the summer as he looks to turn Chelsea into a major force, reports say.

The Italian tactician has overseen a remarkable turnaround in fortunes that sees his side sitting second in the Premier League and a point behind Liverpool.

Chelsea have won their last five games without conceding a goal and Conte has inspired Eden Hazard, Diego Costa and Pedro Rodriguez all back to their very best.

But Conte is still plotting a major spending spree, despite their good form, according to The Telegraph.

Branislav Ivanovic and John Terry are not set to earn new deals and the former Italy boss wants to add new defensive recruits.

Roman Abramovich has agreed to back a big bid for Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci, with Antonio Rudiger and Michael Keane also attracting interest.

John Obi Mikel is also likely to leave the club and Cesc Fabregas’ future remains unclear so another midfielder is also set to arrive at Stamford Bridge over the course of the next two transfer windows.
