Gernot Rohr’s men will earn 30,000 dollars cash reward for putting three goals past the Greens in Saturday’s World Cup qualifier victory at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.


Nigeria ‘s senior national team will pocket $30,000 as a cash reward for recording a 3-1 victory in the 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifier clash against Algeria on Saturday.

Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom state had promised to pay Gernot Rohr’s men $10,000 for each goal they score against the Greens during a visit to the team’s camp on Friday.

Luckily, a brace from Victor Moses plus John Mikel Obi ensured the three-time African kings will claim the huge cash reward after they torn apart the north Africans.

Governor Emmanuel had donated 10million naira to the Gernot Rohr’s men after they defeated Tanzania 1-0 in September.

The victory means Nigeria remain atop of Group B with six points holding four points advantage ahead of Cameroon who was held to a 1-1 draw by Zambia in Limbe.
