    Corruption: EFCC recovers N54.5bn in Kano zone in 10 months

    The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Kano Zone, said it had recovered over N54.5 billion from fraudsters and politicians in the last ten months.

    The commission also said it recovered 622, 200 dollars, eight houses, nine plots of land, three trucks and a car from January to date.

    The EFCC Zonal Head of operations, Mr Nnaghe Oboni-Itam made the disclosure while briefing newsmen in Kano on Tuesday.

    According to reports, the head of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, South South, Ishaq Salihu, said the zone has secured 26 convictions and recorded over a billion naira in the last ten months.

    Two women jailed 10 months for receiving stolen rice, beans in Jos

    A Jos Chief Magistrate’s Court on Thursday sentenced two women, Karkuzu Raymond, 50, and Stella Alechenu, 45, to 10 months imprisonment each, for receiving stolen rice and beans.

    The convicts, both of Jenta Adamu Street, Jos, were charged with receiving stolen property.
