    My family paid N15.1m to my abductors – Iba monarch

    “My abductors demanded N500 million ransom but my family paid N15.1 million to free me,” the traditional ruler of Iba Town, Oba Goriola Oseni told a Lagos High Court sitting at Igbosere.

    Oseni said this on Friday while giving evidence at the commencement of trial of the four men accused of kidnapping him.

    The accused are: Duba Furejo, Ododowo Isaiah, Reuben Anthony and Yerin Fresh, who were first arraigned before Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo on October 24.

    According to reports, the health of one of the school children kidnapped by gunmen at Igbonla Model College, Epe, Lagos has reportedly deteriorated, as the kidnappers have rejected the offer of N750, 000 ransom offered by the parents.

    The kidnappers had insisted on the sum of N1 million before he could be released.

    Abductors  of Onyebuchi Okwueze,  son of the Dean of Graduate School of the University of Calabar, (UNICAL)have demanded N10 million for his release.

    Onyebuchi, 24, a first year student of the department of Banking and Finance, was  last Wednesday whisked away by gunmen numbering about eight.

    Abductors demand N100m ransom for kidnapped oil workers

    Kidnappers of 14 oil workers in Rivers State have demanded the sum of N100m for the release of their victims.

    It was gathered that the kidnappers had established contact with some families of those held captive for the past four days, asking them to make the sum available if they wanted their loved ones to regain freedom.
