Ex-Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal, Alex Badeh (retd.), has permanently forfeited $1m to the Federal Government.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, while investigating the arms scam in ex-President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration, had searched Badeh’s mansion located at 6 Ogun River Crescent, Maitama, on March 6, 2016 and found $1m cash.
The house, which is worth about N1.1bn, was subsequently seized by the EFCC while the cash was taken seized as evidence.

Mohammed Lawan Sini, the sixth prosecution witness of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in the ongoing trial of a former Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex S. Badeh (rtd) on Wednesday, told Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court, Abuja how Badeh, on a monthly basis, allegedly pilfered NAF funds meant for personnel emoluments to the tune of N558 million.

A driver with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Nasiru Isa, has been arrested for allegedly breaking into one of the sealed mansions owned by the immediate past Chief of Defence Staff, Air Marshal Alex Badeh (retd.).

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has said it has traced 17 accounts to former Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh (retd).
Badeh was in January arrested for the non-specification of procurement costs, absence of contract agreements, award of contracts beyond authorised thresholds, transfer of public funds for unidentified purposes and general non-adherence to provisions of the Public Procurement Act.
