    Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi has paid tribute to late coach Shaibu Amodu, the former technical director of the Nigeria Football Federation, who died at the weekend aged 58.

    The 20-year-old recalled a meeting with Amodu before the Super Eagles’ 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Egypt in Kaduna last March.

    The Edo State Government has debunked media reports that it was owing a former coach of the Super Eagles, the late Shuaibu Amodu, unpaid salaries to tune of N25 million.

    It also described the letter said to have been written by the late coach and the claims therein as “patently false”.

    The Technical Director of the Nigeria Football Federation died last Saturday at his residence in Benin and was buried later that day at his hometown in Okpella, according to Islamic rites.

    The House of Representatives has enjoined the authorities to immortalize the late coaches of the Super Eagles Stephen Okechukwu Keshi and Amodu Shuaibu, who passed on recently.

    This comes on the heels of the revelation that the Edo State government owes Coach Amodu Shaibu N25 million.
