According to reports, the Court of Appeal has granted a factional candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for the Ondo State governorship election, Eyitayo Jegede, leave to appeal the judgement that shut him out of the election.
The court said since the judgement of the lower court that recognized Jimoh Ibrahim as the candidate of the PDP affected him, Jegede has the right to appeal the ruling.

According to reports, the Court of Appeal in Abuja has again affirmed the jurisdiction of the Code of Conduct Tribunal to try the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki on charges bordering on assets declaration breaches before the Code of Conduct Tribunal.
Delivering judgment in the appeal filed by Saraki, the Justice Abdul Aboki-led panel of the appeal court on Thursday affirmed the CCT’s jurisdiction after dismissing the appeal filed by Saraki challenging his trial before the tribunal.

James Ibori, a former Nigerian state governor jailed in Britain for corruption, is very likely to appeal against his conviction on the grounds that British police and lawyers involved in his case were themselves corrupt, a London court heard on Friday.

It was gathered that the Association of Resident Doctors, Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital, Ogbomoso has appealed to Gov. Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo to pay them their full salaries.
This is contained in a statement issued on Saturday in Ogbomoso by Dr Sebastine Oiwoh and Dr Ayobami Alabi the Presdient and General Secretaryof the association respectively.
They expressed concern that members of the association had only been paid 50 per cent of their salaries from January to March, describing it as “unfair.’’
Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has approached the Court of Appeal sitting in Owerri to dismiss the originating summons earlier filed by Sir Friday Nwosu for incompetence which also ousted the court’s jurisdiction to entertain the action.
