Author, playwright and human rights activist, Senator Shehu Sani, has said that there is nothing wrong in inviting ex-president Goodluck Jonathan to expatiate on his claim that his former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd,) did not steal $2.1bn arms fund.
Jonathan had stated that it was inconceivable to say that Dasuki stole the arms fund, arguing that his government, where Dasuki served as the NSA, bought warships, aircraft and a lot of equipment for the military during the period.
According to reports, the 13-man Committee on Audit of Defence Equipment Procurement (CADEP) set up to probe arms procurement contracts between 2007 and 2015, is now set to quiz the Minister of Interior, Lt-Gen. Abdurahman Dambazau (rtd), according to reports.
The panel will, today, begin sitting to scrutinise procurement papers in the Nigerian Navy between 2007 and 2015, as well as probe arms purchase in the Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) between 2007 and 2010.

According to reports, the Federal Government has disclosed that more investigative reports on the audit of defence equipment procurement in the Armed Forces from 2007-2015 will soon be released.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) yesterday formally received a petition asking the agency to probe ex-President Goodluck Jonathan on the alleged mismanagement of $2.1billion released to the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) for arms purchase.
The petition is also requesting the EFCC to invite Jonathan for interrogation on why he made N400million public funds available to a former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olisa Metuh, for personal and private party use.
