    Absence of auditor-general may stall FG’s bid to borrow $29.96bn

    According to reports, the Federal Government’s plan to borrow $29.960 billion from external sources may be stalled by some institutional lapses, it was learnt yesterday.

    In an interview with some senators, particularly on the Senate Committee on Appropriation, it was learnt that such a request for loans and grants from external sources requires accompanying documents, which only a substantive auditor- general of the federation could approve.

    Kogi State Government lost N213bn to ghost workers in 16 years – Auditor-General

     

    The Kogi State Auditor General, Alhaji Yusufu Okala, has said that the state lost approximately N213,034,857,280.44, to a category of persons he called “Ghost Workers/Unintended Beneficiaries.”

    The Auditor stated this when the Staff Screening and Validation Committee, jointly led by himself and the Auditor General of the Local Governments Areas, Mallam Usman Ahmed Ododo, submitted their report to the State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, at a Stakeholders Forum held in Government House, Lokoja, on Monday.
