    2017 budget: Senate threatens zero allocation to aviation sector

    The Senate may not approve the planned concession of the four international airports if the federal government fails to settle the lingering disagreement between the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and Bi-Courtney Aviation Services (BASL) over the concession agreement over the management of the terminal two and the General Aviation Terminal at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos.

    FG not implementing new projects in aviation sector, says Amaechi

    According to reports, the Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi, said on Tuesday that the ministry had been implementing inherited projects in the aviation sector and had not initiated new ones.

    Amaechi stated this when members of the Transportation Growth Initiative, a Non-Governmental Organisation, visited him in Abuja.

    He stated that the ministry had made a decision to implement projects initiated by previous administrations instead of introducing new ones.

    Reports reaching ADELOVE gathered that the National Union of Air Transport Employees (NUATE) has revealed that foreign airlines plan to sack about two thousand (2,000) Nigerian workers due to their inability to meet operational costs.
