    12 varsities to benefit from 2016 Etisalat merit award

    In furtherance of its commitment to youth development and the promotion of academic excellence, Etisalat Nigeria has listed 12 universities across the six geo-political zones of the country as beneficiaries of this year’s scholarship scheme, Etisalat Merit Award.

    The 2016 regional presentation ceremony holds in Ibadan, in November.

    In addition to the institutions, hundreds of their students will receive grants, which have been increased by 100 per cent beginning from the current academic year.

    EFCC arrests air force, naval officers, four others over death benefit fraud

    According to reports, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested two military officers and four others for opening fake accounts to divert N339million benefits of next-of-kins of deceased military officers and men within two months.

    Two other suspects were at large, but the EFCC has launched manhunt for them.

    Some of those whose benefits were diverted actually were said to have died in the war against Boko Haram in the Northeast.

    No fewer than 41, 161 graduates have benefitted from the Graduate Internship Scheme (GIS) of the Federal Government and supervised by the Ministry of Finance.
