According to reports, the Nigerian government is not obligated to obey a ruling of the Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS, Court that a former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, be released from the custody of the State Security Service, a presidential aide has said.

Malam Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President, says the Federal Government is determined to enforce fiscal discipline across the states to check wasteful spending.
Shehu in a statement issued in Abuja on Monday that the Federal Government was not limiting its economic and financial reform programmes to the centre alone.

The Presidency on Saturday announced the death of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Economic Matters, Mr. Ayoleke Adu.
According to a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the Vice-President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Laolu Akande, the presidential aide died at the age of 44.
Akande quoted Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo as condoling the family of the deceased on behalf of the Federal Government.

Brig.-Gen. Paul Boroh (rtd), Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Niger Delta, has expressed concern over the delay in payment of stipends of former militants in the Niger Delta region.
Boroh’s concern was conveyed in a statement signed by Mr Piriye Kiyaramo, Bayelsa Liaison Officer, Presidential Amnesty Programme and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Yenagoa
