    Adamawa begins renovation, reconstruction of schools destroyed by Boko Haram

    The Adamawa State Government has commenced the renovation and reconstruction of secondary school structures in the state destroyed by Boko Haram insurgents.

    The Deputy Governor, Mr Martins Babale, accompanied by other government officials went round to access the extent of damage and also inspect the renovation carried out at one of the schools.

    The Principal of GSS Gombi, Mr Idris Samari lamented the poor application by students to the school.

    Over 14m affected by Boko Haram conflict – Swiss group

    Boko Haram’s insurgency has created a severe humanitarian crisis in Nigeria’s north-eastern States of Borno, Yobe and Adamawa, says ACAPS, a Swiss-based research group, in its July report.

    Over 14 million people are affected by conflict in these states and more than 10 million are in need, it says.

    Recent military operations, which led to the recovery of territories previously under Boko Haram’s control, have revealed the scale of the humanitarian needs of civilians living in the three states.
