    Resident doctors call-off 10-week strike in Rivers

    Association of Resident Doctors at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital has suspended its two months old strike.

    The doctors had gone on strike on the 3rd of August, citing poor management, non payment of full salary for doctors, incessant cases of robbery, lack of consumables, amongst others.

    Lecturers at the Bayelsa state-owned University, Niger Delta University (NDU), Ammassoma in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of the State has called off its four months old strike action.

    The decision to call off the strike action followed the meeting and the formal signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, between the Bayelsa state government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Niger Delta University chapter.
