    Lawyers protest in Abuja, want SSS to obey court orders

    Thousands of lawyers have stormed the streets of Abuja, in protest of the alleged continued disobedience of court orders by the State Security Service, SSS.

    The lawyers, supported by members of the civil society community, have stormed the Federal High Court Headquarters in Maitama, the Attorney General’s office, National Human Rights Commission.

    They are currently heading to the Three Arms Zone, which hosts the Aso Rock presidential villa, Supreme Court and the National Assembly, a witness said.

    Court orders EFCC to pay N5 million damages to Fayose’s aide

    A Federal Capital Territory High Court has granted bail to Abiodun Agbele, an aide to the Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose.

    Mr. Agbele was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on July 1 on allegations of fraud.

    The EFCC said Mr. Agbele received huge public funds from a former defence minister, Musiliu Obanikoro, and delivered same to Mr. Fayose.

    $40m Pipeline Contract: Court Orders EFCC to Release Jonathan’s Cousin

    A Federal Capital Territory High Court in Maitama, Abuja, on Thursday ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to release a cousin of former President Goodluck Jonathan, Mr. Azibaola Robert, on bail.

    Justice Olasunbo Goodluk, ruling on Robert’s ex parte application ordered that the bail should be guaranteed by two sureties.

    Each sureties must be a serving or retired Director in any of the Federal Government’s ministries or parastatal and must be resident within Abuja.
