According to reports, the Oyo State House of Assembly on Tuesday passed the Local Government Amendment Bill 2016 for the creation of 35 local council development areas.
The passage of the bill is sequel to the adoption of the report of the Committee on Local Government, Chieftaincy Matters and State Honours.

Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, Friday said he is opposed to the proposed creation of grazing zones across the country by the Federal Government.
Amosun declared that grazing zones cannot solve the frequent clashes between herdsmen and farmers in Nigeria, saying he would rather support the establishment of cattle ranches as lasting solution to the conflict.

Human rights activist, Mr Femi Falana (SAN) has called for the creation of a special anti-corruption court to aid speedy dispensation of justice in economic and financial cases in the country.
Falana made call on Thursday at a Round discussion on “Winning the War Against Corruption” organised by the Department of Jurisprudence and International Law, University of Lagos.
