A medical practitioner, Dr. Festus Olalekan of the Graceland Hospital, Ilorin, Kwara State, has warned against excessive consumption of food seasoning, saying it can damage the brain.
Olalekan told newsmen on Thursday in Ilorin that most of the food seasoning contained Monosodium Glutamate, which poses serious health damage.
According to him, the amount of sodium in the food seasoning over stimulates the brain cells until the cells die off.

The police on Friday arraigned 34 students of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta in an Abeokuta, Ogun State Magistrates’ Court for conspiracy and unlawful assembly.

Scientists at York University on Sunday in Toronto came up with research findings that coffee reduces cardiac damage done by heart attacks.
The team said the new finding suggested that patients who drink one to two cups of coffee are 20 per cent less likely to die prematurely from heart damage than those who don’t drink coffee.
