    DPR gives cooking gas retailers January 2017 deadline

    The Department of Petroleum Resources has advised retailers of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (cooking gas) to get licenced before January 2017.

    Gas Department, DPR Lagos Zonal Office, Etukudo Etim, made the appeal during a safety training workshop organised by the LPG retailers in Lagos.

    According to Etim, the department would clampdown on unlicensed retailers in Lagos and Ogun States as part of measures to enforce the law regulating LPG’s business.

    ASUU Strike: Saraki’s deal gives FG, ASUU two weeks deadline to settle outstanding issues

    Abubakar Bukola Saraki, Nigeria’s Senate President, on Thursday brokered a time-frame for the Federal Government and Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to settle three outstanding issues remaining.

    The resolution of the three issues would avert a nation wide strike planned by ASUU.

    Saraki personally participated in resumed negotiation between the Federal Ministry of Education and the leadership of ASUU held at the National Assembly on Thursday.

    In order to clear its registry of backlog, the Lagos State University (LASU) has extended the deadline for collection of certificates by its graduates by another two weeks.

    Mr Adekoya Martins, the Acting Head, Centre for Information, Press and Public Relations of the institution‎, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Lagos that the extension was due to the impressive turnout by the graduates.

    The Police on Tuesday confirmed the extension of the decline for the revalidation of tinted glass permit and firearms licence to July 31, 2016.
