According to reports, the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, yesterday said it had arrested over 2,600 motorists for not installing the speed limiting device in their vehicles. Commander of Rivers State Sector Command, Andrew Kumakpayi, spoke in Port Harcourt during a health programme organized for tanker drivers in conjunction with Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, and Medical Women’s Association of Nigerian, MWAN.
Kumapayi expressed happiness that the compliance level of vehicle owners in the state to the speed limiting device was encouraging.
It was gathered that the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) on Saturday in Lagos says the subtle enforcement of speed limit is only on commercial and fleet operators, while that of private vehicles will commence in 2017.

Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Tuesday said the planned installation of the speed limiting device on vehicles plying public roads by the FRSC on October 1 is not illegal as viewed in some quarters.
