Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has appointed the Director-General of his campaign organisation, Osarodion Ogie, as the new Secretary to the State Government.
This was Governor Obaseki’s first official appointment since he was inaugurated last Saturday.
Ogie, who was the immediate past Commissioner for Works, was also sworn in by Governor Obaseki on Monday at the Government House, in Benin, the state
A prosecution witness, Mr Chukwuma Orji, has revealed how a former Director General of Nigerian Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Mr Patrick Akpobolokemi, converted N496million from the office of the National Security Agency (NSA) to personal use.
Orji made the revelation during the trial of Akpobolokemi and five others on a 13-count charge of stealing and fraud proffered against them by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

An FCT High Court, Apo, on Thursday ordered the Department of State Services (DSS) and its Director-General DSS to pay N10 million compensation to one Kasim Kayode for fundamental rights infringement.
The judge, Justice Peter Kekemeke, ordered the respondents to either charge Kayode to court or releases him unconditionally.

Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia of a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos yesterday sentenced a former Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration Safety Agency, Mr. Raymond Temisan Omatseye, to five years in prison over a N1.5bn contract scam.
