Counter-insurgency operations are ongoing in the notorious Sambisa Forest in northeast Nigeria, to clear remaining Boko Haram terrorists in the area, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Gabriel Olonisakin, said on Sunday.He says the army is not relenting in its counter-insurgency war.

According to reports, the Federal Government has, again, justified clampdown on judges by the Department of State Services (DSS).
Vice President, Professor Yemi Osibanjo said the clampdown was because of corruption allegations in the Judiciary and the need to rid the arm of government of bad eggs and restore its integrity and public confidence.
Between October 7 and 8, the DSS raided the residences of seven judges who were subsequently arrested and detained over alleged acts of corruption and falsification of assets.
Academic activities at the Oleh campus of the Delta State University were, on Monday morning, halted by some aggrieved sacked workers of the institution who are members of the Oleh Community in the Isoko South council area of the state.

Indications emerged yesterday that former minister of state for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro may spend more time with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) as his offer to pay back N100 million to government coffers was reportedly rejected.
