    ECOWAS court slams $250, 000 fine on Ghana over unlawful killing of Nigerian

    Hon. Justice Micah Wrights of ECOWAS Community court on Wednesday in Abuja, handed down a $250, 000 fine to Ghanaian government over the right abuse and alleged unlawful killing of 15 years old Ogukwe Obioma.

    The Judge while delivering the judgment, established that Ogukwe Obioma the Nigerian teenager studying in Ghana, has his right violated abused which lead to his eventual death.

    ECOWAS court charges Nigeria $3.3m fine over Apo killings

    According to reports, the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) court has fined Nigeria $3.3m for the September 2013 killing of eight citizens at Apo district in Abuja.

    The regional court ordered the country to pay a compensatory damage of $200,000 to each of the family of the deceased citizens and $150,000 to each of those wounded.
