    The Transition Monitoring Group (TMG) and the Conference of Edo State non-governmental organizations have flayed the security advise from the Police and the Department of State Services, DSS, that instigated the poll shift as poorly timed and wrongly presented.

    Why we rescheduled Edo elections to Sept. 28 – INEC shares reasons

    The Independent National Electoral Commission on Thursday announced that the date of the Edo governorship election has been rescheduled to hold on September, 28, 2016, due to security reasons.

    The electoral body made the announcement at exactly 8:00pm, during a press conference in Benin, Edo State.

    Recall that the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and the Department of State Services (DSS), yesterday, appealed to the Independent National Electoral Commission to postpone the Edo governorship election scheduled for Sept. 10, citing security threat.
