President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the nomination of the Minister of Environment, Mrs Amina Mohammed, to serve in the African Union (AU) Reform Steering Committee.
The committee, headed by President Paul Kagame of Rwanda is tasked with ongoing institutional reforms of the AU Commission and its organs.
The committee, which comprises eminent persons from the continent, will work on part-time basis to produce a report for presentation to the 28th African Union Summit in January 2017.

President Muhammadu Buhari has assured the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria that his administration will remove bottlenecks and create a more business friendly environment to boost manufacturing activities in the country.
The President gave the assurance at the 44th Annual General Meeting of MAN held in Abuja on Thursday.

Youths in Ogoni communities have vowed to desist from unwholesome activities that will re-pollute the on-going remediation and cleanup exercise in Ogoniland.
The youths made the vow during a one-day sensitisation campaign with communities in Gokana, one of the most affected area of oil spill in Ogoniland.
The campaign was organised by the National Coalition on Gas flaring and Oil spills in the Niger Delta (NACGOND), in collaboration with National Oil Spill Detection and Response Agency (NOSDRA), and Environmental Monitoring Team (EMT).
Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), have arrested a staff of the Federal Ministry of Environment in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, Mr. Tariah O. Fred, over an alleged fraud.
