    Anambra farming communities warn herdsmen

    Aguleri Otu, Mkpunando and Eziagulu Otu communities in Anambra East Local Council have warned Fulani herdsmen to stay away from their farmlands this dry season to avoid further damage to their crops.

    The communities yesterday lamented that they were yet to recover from the colossal damage done to their crops last dry season by the herdsmen.

    The Federal Government will train 500 ex-militants in agriculture and aquaculture under its amnesty programme, an official has said.

    The Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta, Paul Boro, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria shortly after his visit to Bio-resources Development Centre (BIODEC), Odi in Bayelsa.

    Lagos State Commissioner for Information, Mr Steve Ayorinde, said that the state government has acquired land in Ogun, Ondo and Osun states for farming.
