Darka community and two other villages in Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, have been attacked thrice within a week.

Malam Muhammad Bello, Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, has called for calm over recent attacks on some villages in the territory, assuring that security agencies were in control of the situation.
Bello gave the assurance while addressing newsmen after an emergency security meeting which was attended by stakeholders of the affected communities in his office in Abuja on Friday.

It was gathered that the Abuja Environmental Protection Board has arrested nine herdsmen and confiscated 25 cows and 51 sheep for illegal grazing in the Federal Capital Territory.

Traders and others wept profusely yesterday as bulldozers from the Development Control Department of Abuja Metropolitan Management Agency (AMMA) of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) demolished the popular Canopy Market in Wuse Zone 3, Abuja.
