The Federal Executive Council (FEC) yesterday waded into the embarrasing episode of non-payment of the Super Falcons players’ match bonuses.
The bonuses are due to the female players after they won the African Women Nations Cup in Cameroon at the weekend, but the FEC discussed the matter at its meeting chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari and blamed the failure to pay the ladies on the prevailing “biting economic situation”.

The Federal Government on Monday stated its objections on the plan by the Senate to cancel the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency and replace it with the Federal Roads Authority.

Mr Laolu Akande, the Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Media and Publicity, has revealed that the Federal Government has no plans to impose new taxes but to expand the scope of Value Added Tax (VAT) in a drive for additional revenue.
