    Former militants beg FG to pay outstanding stipends

    Former Niger Delta militants, under the auspices of the Second Phase Presidential Amnesty Programme, have pleaded with the Federal Government to pay their three months arrears of outstanding stipends.

    The Chairman of the second phase in Bayelsa State, Ebina Salvation, in a statement on Saturday, urged President Muhammadu Buhari to see the amnesty programme as a security programme.

    FG to start paying former militants on Monday

    The Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta and Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Brig-Gen. Paul Boroh (retd), has said ex-Niger Delta militants will start receiving their stipends on Monday.

    Boroh consequently appealed to the ex-militants in the region to shelve the planned protests scheduled to hold on Monday.
