The Fred Agbaje’s Chambers on Sunday released a statement to officially announce the death of its principal partner, Mr. Fred Agbaje.
The brief statement jointly signed by Prince Kennedy Osunwa and Adeniyi Pokanu stated that Agbaje died at about 8am on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba, Lagos, as opposed to earlier media reports that the legal icon died in a London hospital.

President Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with the family, friends and professional colleagues of erudite human rights lawyer, Fred Agbaje, who died on Saturday.
The President, according to a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, received the news of the sad development with shock.
He described the constitutional lawyer as “an ardent advocate against corruption and canvasser for internal democracy in political parties, who also believed strongly in the sanctity of the ballot box.”

A human rights lawyer and civil rights activist, Fred Agabje has died in London after battling with an undisclosed ailment for several months.
Sources within the legal profession said the late Agbaje had not been seen in public for some months before his eventual death.
Agbaje was shortlisted several times for the SAN rank but never bagged the prestigious rank.
