    Gas explosion kills one in Damaturu

    A gas explosion in Damaturu on Wednesday killed one person and caused panic, making people to scamper for safety.

    Lt. George Okupe, the Army spokesman in the state, confirmed the incident.

    Okupe said, “It was an accidental explosion from a welding tank when a welder was working on a pipe for a soldier.

    “The welder died instantly while the soldier and one other civilian sustained injuries and are responding to treatment at the Specialists Hospital Damaturu.”

    A gas explosion has caused severe damages to lives and properties in Edo State as it leaves people dead and injured.

    As many as three persons, including two children, have been killed by the gas explosion.

    The event occurred at 32, Osazuwa Street, along Agbor road, in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State.

    Four killed as a result of Gas explosion in Rivers

    Four persons were killed on Thursday after a gas explosion occurred around Eliozu axis of Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.

    The incident, which occurred at a panel beater’s workshop, shattered various objects in and around the workshop.

    Shattered pieces of tools such as helmets, containers and welding machines littered the scene.
