    Former Minister of Information, Labaran Maku, says Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State represents Nigeria’s new generation of leaders, driving the country toward prosperity and development.

    A statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja by Simeon Nwakaudu, the Special Assistant to Wike on Electronic Media, said Maku made the remark at the inspection of some projects in the state on Saturday.

    Power generation increases to 4,028MW

    It was gathered that the 3,959 megawatts (MW) of electricity that was generated on Monday, yesterday rose to 4,028 megawatts, resulting in 69 megawatts increase in power produced by the generation companies, GENCOs.

    It was gathered that the Federal Government has unveiled a sustainable energy for All-Agenda (SE4ALL-AA) that would increase Nigeria’s power generation the present 3,000 Mega Watts (MW) to 45,101MW by 2030.

    According to reports, the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, has said that the country’s power generation has increased from 3,810 megawatts recorded on September 8, 2016 to 4,285.90 megawatts on Friday.

    Sapele Power Plant promises to increase generation by 1,000MW

    To expand its capacity to generate more electricity in Nigeria, the management of Sapele power plant has said it has put all machinery in place to recover the plant’s installed capacity of 1,020MW and inject new generation capacity of 1,000MW within the next five years.
