    A Federal High Court in Abuja has fixed December 1 for ruling on the bail application by leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), Ibrahim Zakzaky.

    Justice Gabriel Kolawole yesterday rescheduled the judgement after the settlement which he advised the parties to explore, failed.

    Zakzaky was arrested following a confrontation between the group and soldiers, which resulted in the death of scores and destruction of properties on December 12 and 14, 2015.

    A Federal High Court in Lagos on Monday fixed December 13 for the continuation of trial of a former acting Director General of NIMASA, Haruna Jauro, alongside others, facing a N304.1 million fraud charge.

    Jauro, who assumed leadership of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) in acting capacity in July 2015, is charged by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

    President Muhammadu Buhari will soon send a “reworked” list of non-career ambassadorial nominees to the Senate for confirmation.

    The Senate had last week rejected the 46 non-career ambassadorial nominees earlier sent to it by Buhari for approval.

    The lawmakers, who said the list would be returned to the President “for re-submission and re-jigging,” added that they rejected the nominees because of over 250 petitions against them.

    According to reports, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, Mr. Fatai Owoseni on Thursday said that a police station in Nigeria gets N45,000 in three months as running cost.

    Owoseni said this while addressing members of the Human Rights Defenders and Advocacy Centre, a civil society organisation, who protested to his office in Ikeja.
